Our Story
In the early 1980's a Portland, Oregon locksmith turned inventor began brainstorming of a way to make it easier for locksmiths to be able to cut a key for a customer when they locked themselves out of their car or lost their key. The most common method, at the time, was impressioning which applies pressure to the locks but it can cause damage if too much pressure is applied. The resuting invention, EEZ READER, is an ingenious tool that allows the locksmith to read the height of the wafer in the lock allowing the locksmith to then cut a key by code.
For more that 35 years, the EEZ Readers have been the gold standard locksmithing tool proudly manufactured by hand ensuring the highest quality and accuracy of each tool. Sadly in 2019, the inventor passed away, but the family has continued his legacy to this day.
